Facing Your Fear of Travel

There are many fears that people have about traveling. One of those main fears is of trying something and not liking it. Another big fear is being worried about having a bad experience. These are some things I have learned that will help you to make the most of your trip and hopefully will help you to face your fear of travel.

You don't have to try brand new things

Lots of people feel like you have to try something new on each and every vacation. What is it about vacations and trying new things that must go hand in hand? You don't have to. If watching movies is your hobby, for example, then you could make watching movies in new places part of your Travel Blog. That way you know you are doing something you will like, your just changing it enough to make it an adventure.

Yes there are somethings that are locations specific, like having to be at the beach to go surfing, but you don't have to try and only do new things on each trip. The great blessing about picking your own trip is that you can tailor it to your interests. Like museums? Try traveling to different museums. You know your going to have fun and when you have your major plans completed, it's a lot easier to get past the small stuff.

Don't change the pace of your life

I hear people saying all the time that they need a vacation from their vacation. 00 That's a problem, and it's hard to deal with when you want to get the most out of each trip. If you're so busy running around trying to get stuff done, then you don't have any time to enjoy and take it all in. It would be like going into a huge museum and trying to see everything in one hour. Sure you can say that you went to it, but did you really get anything out of it.

When you go on your trip, live at your normal pace of life or slower. It will keep you from feeling more exhausted and worn out. If you change everything about your normal routine, it will make you stressed and feel out of sorts with yourself. I'm not saying don't do new things. You can't do everything, so don't try to.

Learn to say NO

The amazing sights and sounds, delectable treats, and millions of vendors vying for your attention. Lots of people don't go places because they are worried about regretting doing stuff, or not getting to do stuff. In the end, it's all just stuff and most people have plenty of "stuff" in their lives. There are so many things you can do that its hard to decide what to do and all the popular travel magazines and travel agencies seem to have itineraries that are down to the minute of where you will be and what you will do. Sorry, but to me, that just plain sucks.

By saying no to all those hunting for your attention, you can keep from feeling overwhelmed. Some people don't want to take another vacation for a long time because they were so overwhelmed with the last one. These memories of bad experiences don't have to keep you from learning to change your travel style to something that will fit your lifestyle better and make your vacation and your memories of it something that you can enjoy for the rest of your life.
